EMR-EYES is an Interreg project financed by the ERDF (European Regional Economic Development Fund) and co-financed by the Walloon Region. The project is supported by various project partners, including the Province of Liège (main partner), the Belgian and Dutch Province of Limburg, Wegweiser Ostbelgien, the City of Verviers, the Aachen Police Headquarters and the Openbaar Ministerie (Public Prosecutor's Office of the Dutch Province of Limburg).
The project aims to achieve closer cooperation between security and prevention actors around three priority themes - radicalism, house theft and drug addiction - at a euroregional level. The implementation of this objective requires an improved exchange of information between the relevant actors on the ground.
A three-person joint office has been set up in Liège to manage the project. In the context of information exchange, which is essential to the project's objective, the joint office is working with the various project partners to organize training courses, seminars, workshops, etc. on the three priorities mentioned above.
The aim of the EMR-EYES project is to improve existing structures and create efficient communication and reporting tools to enable the exchange of information and cooperation between security (police, justice, etc.) and prevention actors (administrative authorities, NGOs and other stakeholders) in the Euregion Meuse-Rhine.
