Frank Plum, PP Aachen

The Directorate for Emergency Response/Deployment is divided into two police inspectorates and the area of special police services. It includes the officers who act as police on the streets or at major events in the city of Aachen and the city region. These officers deal with operations that generally arise from emergency calls via the emergency number 110.

Watch and changeover duty

From four continuously manned stations in two police stations, our colleagues ensure safety on the streets of Aachen and the city region. On the one hand, this is achieved through the general presence of the officers in alternating shifts, but also through targeted priority actions to combat crime and traffic accidents.

The police station 1

The area of responsibility covers the district-free city of Aachen and is divided into the West and East police stations. Police Station 1 also has a district service and a priority service.

The West police station covers the western part of the city of Aachen with the districts of Aachen-Mitte, Laurensberg and Richterich.

The East police station covers the eastern part of the city of Aachen with the districts of Brand, Eilendorf, Haaren and Kornelimünster/Walheim.

The police station 2

The city region excluding the city of Aachen is the area of responsibility of Police Inspectorate 2 and is divided into the North and South police stations and the North and South district and priority services.

The North Police Station serves the towns of Alsdorf, Baesweiler, Herzogenrath and Würselen.

The South Police Station is responsible for the towns of Eschweiler, Stolberg, Monschau and the municipalities of Roetgen and Simmerath.

The officers of the security service are always keen to provide rapid assistance. With the numerous emergency calls that the Aachen police control center receives every day, it is unfortunately unavoidable that, especially at so-called peak times, operations are processed according to urgency. In individual cases, this unfortunately results in waiting times.

Control center

The emergency calls 110 from citizens from the entire Aachen city region are received by the control center. If help is required from the police on site, the deployment of the radio patrol cars is coordinated from here via digital radio. If necessary, additional emergency services such as the fire department or ambulances are requested via a direct telephone connection to the fire department control center. In organizational terms, the control centre is part of the emergency response/deployment directorate.

District and priority service

The tasks of operational management are supplemented by the officers of the district and priority services. Their tasks are understood to be citizen-oriented and social space-oriented police work. This includes a visible police presence in the individual city districts as well as establishing and maintaining permanent contact with the population and all local institutions. In the vernacular, this is known as the "policeman on the corner". District officers are available to you as local contacts. You can find your contact person here.

Riot police / special police services

In addition to the police inspectorates, the riot police/special police services represent the third major area of the Directorate for Emergency Response/Employment. It is divided into the 11th riot police unit, the service dog squadron, the police custody service and the emergency response/deployment unit.
