Better together
On September 17, 1969, the Dutch-Belgian-German police working group, NeBeDeAgPol for short, was founded in Aachen. Since then, cooperation between the police forces in the Euregio has been growing across national borders. Because one thing is clear: criminals do not stop at borders.
The working group celebrated its 50th anniversary on Monday (30.09.2019), first in the Aula Carolina and later in Aachen Town Hall.

Alongside other guests, Aachen's Chief of Police and Chairman of NeBeDeAGPol, Dirk Weinspach, welcomed the Minister of the Interior of North Rhine-Westphalia, Herbert Reul, the Chief of Police of the Limburg unit, Ingrid Schäfer-Poels, and the Director of the Eupen Federal Police, Daniel Colling.

"Our region is Europe in miniature. And it is a living example of how the idea of Europe works when it is not perceived as politically detached and far removed from people's worries and fears. Our cooperation must be tangible and concrete for people and become part of their own tangible world," says Police Commissioner Dirk Weinspach.

At the end of the day, it was clear that cross-border cooperation in the border triangle has proven its worth and will continue to be expanded in the future.
