15. Internationales Polizeiseminar Photogrammetrie / Laserscanning Plakat
15th International Police Conference Photogrammetry / Laser Scanning
From July 11 to Juli 15, 2022 the „15th International Police Seminar Photogrammetry / Laser Scanning“ will take place at the LAFP NRW in the educationcentre Neuss.
LAFP NRW / Arnd Voßenkaul

Specialists for crime scene or traffic accident documentation and incident scene visualization of the police, enriched by experts from forensics, science, surveying and forensic medicine, confer every two to three years for one week in a workshop at the Landesamt für Ausbildung, Fortbildung und Personalangelegenheiten der Polizei NRW (LAFP NRW). From July 11 to July 15, 2022, it will be that time again at the Neuss training center.

The specialist conference will deal with the possibilities and limits of documenting three-dimensional crime scene findings and their visualization. Presentations and expert lectures on interesting cases, innovations in the field of hardware and software and quality management will inform the audience. At the same time, the interdisciplinary exchange between criminal investigation and protection police, scientists, experts and technicians provides a rare and important opportunity to cross-reference similar end-use applications of their own and to identify overlaps.

We are pleased to announce that participants from 15 different nations have registered for the 15th International Police Conference. The participating nations are:

  • Austria
  • Canada
  • Czech republic
  • Denmark
  • Greece
  • Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
  • USA
  • Germany
Conference venue

This year, 120 workshop places can be allocated. Participants will be accommodated within the venue in two separate bed houses. You can expect a single room with shower / WC including full board.  A large conference hall serves as a conference venue and exhibition space for innovative technology. In the vicinity of the site, the neighboring Rhine meadows offer beautiful opportunities for extensive walks or for sports activities. The immediate vicinity of Düsseldorf offers the opportunity for an evening visit, which can be easily undertaken by public transport.

Corona

Currently, participation is possible for all fully vaccinated, recovered and negatively tested persons. Those not vaccinated or recovered will need a Corona rapid test updated daily. Standard clearance rules apply. An FFP2 mask requirement exists throughout the property. Adjustments to the regulations are possible up to the events. Corona regulations in effect at that time will apply.

Exercise on the second day of the event

This year we want to focus on the topic of major police incidents. To this end, we will be taking an excursion to neighboring Krefeld on Tuesday, July 12. Using the example of a derailed passenger train on a factory site, participants will be able to practice the various practical documentations required, practice operational coordination, or witness the goings-on as passive spectators.

Various methods will be used, such as 3D laser scanners, mobile laser scanning (with and without robots), handheld scanners, multicopters and photogrammetry systems.
Appropriate documentation techniques must be brought along by the participants themselves. Participants who actively take part in the exercise are advised that appropriate protective clothing is required. In particular, footwear with a puncture-resistant sole and steel toe cap as well as a hard hat are required for self-protection.

 Presentations and topics

Every successful International Police Seminar Photogrammetry/Laserscanning depends and lives on the lectures from our own ranks, i.e. presentations from you, dear participants. The presentation of interesting, processed cases, collected experiences with hard- and software, strategic considerations for the technical setup of an office, successful measures for personnel recruitment and the requirements could be topics for possible presentations. International presentations are also particularly interesting, as are interdisciplinary presentations from the fields of science, research, archaeology, surveying and forensic medicine.

Also in the 15th International Police Seminar Photogrammetry / Laser Scanning we would like to make with your help the topic Virtual Reality with its great representation potential one of the main topics.

Wednesday is workshop day

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, a workshop-only day is planned, where participants can register for and split up among various entertaining workshop offerings throughout the day according to their interests.
