Traffic accident on car wash premises

(jd) The Herford police traffic commissioner's office is asking witnesses who can provide information about an accident to come forward: On Monday (10.3.) at 10.15 a.m., an 86-year-old man from Warendorf drove his Mercedes onto the premises of a car wash on Füllenbruchstraße. However, the car wash was out of order and the man was unable to drive into the facility, but was on the access road in his Mercedes. Behind him, another car was driving towards the car wash. To signal to the driver of this car that the facility was closed, the 86-year-old got out of his car. A few moments later, however, he was hit by his car. The vehicle rolled into adjacent bushes. The Mercedes driver was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The traffic commissioner's office has taken over the investigation into the exact course of the accident and is asking the driver of the second vehicle or witnesses who can provide information about the incident to contact them on 05221/8880.
