Skoda crashes into woodland

(jd) A traffic accident occurred on Teichstraße at around 1.25 p.m. on Saturday (15 March). An 82-year-old man from Hiddenhaus was driving his Skoda in the direction of Am Schweigsiek. At the junction, the driver lost control of his car and drove towards a wooded area almost without braking. The car came to a standstill lying on its side on a slope in the wooded area. The driver and his 77-year-old passenger were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital by the emergency services, as both were injured in the accident. The vehicle was secured by the volunteer fire department of the municipality of Hiddenhausen while the accident was being investigated. The material damage is around 30,000 euros.
